Oil and Water Puzzle Pack

VI : Oil, Water, Glyph

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Each cage is either full of "oil" (even digits), full of "water" (odd digits), or a mix of both. In all cases, each "row" within a cage is of just one type (oil or water). Oil floats on water, so even digits will always be in rows above odd digits in mixed cages.

Digits in cages do not repeat.

Digits in cages must sum to the small clue, if given.

Along lines, digits must strictly increase or decrease.

Have fun, leave a comment if you enjoy the puzzle!

Another fun puzzle! This was a step-up in difficulty for the series.

that break in was so far down on my list of things to try it deserves a third star IYM.
It was brilliant, but IMHO so not obvious that it took me 90% of the solving time just to see it, the rest was nice and obvious and fell into place with just a small nudge here and there..(1*)

Aanyways, very nice puzzle, great fun to solve

I too found the break in tough, but smooth sailing after. Sadly I always use blue for even and yellow for odd (odd numbers being so much more exciting than evens), so I had water floating on oil. Perhaps I had a weird solution, but I had row 8 way before the end.

Although reading the comments of mixing up the colors and parity beforehand, I still colored the whole Sudoku wrong at the first go (i.e. even digits as water below). After that realizing my stupid mistake and restarting, it solved really smoothly. Thanks for creating it :)

Nice little puzzle with a tricky break-in. Because my mental modal of odd and even is orange and blue, I think of odd as "dirt" (sinks to the bottom) and even as "water" (floats on top).

Another great puzzle. As mentioned below, the initial break in was tough. After coloring the entire grid, the logic with the thermo lines was brilliant. Thank you!

Sensational! I found the break in really hard, but it was so elegant when I got there. Thank you!

I was unsure how this was going to work with bulbless thermos. Turns out it works VERY well. Thank you for another excellent Oil and Water puzzle!
