Another Christmas puzzle, which shares some minor similarities with both of my previous Christmas puzzles.
Please also try these if you have time:
Merry Christmas!
Loopin' around, the masyu tree...
Kropki-Masyudoku
If you've seen the one I made last year, you'll know which part of this year's puzzle has been loopin' around my mind for a full year... ;)
(Although as per usual I only started setting about a week ago and just finished it in time today. I really need to start a bit sooner with these things...)
The rules of this one may seem long, but I think they shouldn't be too hard to understand.
I'm not entirely sure about the difficulty of this one, probably about 4 stars.
Feel free to post a comment if you have any questions about the puzzle. Other comments, ratings and solves of any of my puzzles are also highly appreciated.
Have fun, and Merry Christmas!
Rules:
You can play here on CTC, but since it is hard to mark the small circles (best way I can think of is by drawing a line on the edge between cells, and making the loop a different color) it might be better to take a screenshot and solve on paper or in a program like Paint, or to solve here on Sudoku Maker if you know how to use that site (mostly meant for setters).

Wow! Nice puzzle, thank you for linking it in your recent puzzle, would never have discovered it otherwise, probably. I thought for a moment that I made a mistake, but then figured that if the star is supposed to be a yellow circle, then the boundary between r1c5 and r2c5 counts as inside the tree. If this is the intended solution, then the cage makes it confusing.
I solved it in the ctc link, using the line tool you can place little crosses on edges for the small circles
--Thank you for solving!
That is not quite the intended solution. The boundary of the cage cannot have a small circle on it, not even right beneath the star. The star itself does count as one of the 6 yellow circles in that column though.

What a beast of a puzzle. My longest solve I've done yet. Very nice all the way through with beautiful logic.
--Thanks!
