Oil, Water, Knights 2

Oil and Water Puzzle Pack

VII : Oil, Water, Knights 2

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Each cage is either full of "oil" (even digits), full of "water" (odd digits), or a mix of both. In all cases, each "row" within a cage is of just one type (oil or water). Oil floats on water, so even digits will always be in rows above odd digits in mixed cages.

Digits in cages do not repeat.

Digits in cages must sum to the small clue, if given.

Cells a chess knight's move apart cannot contain the same digit.

As a novice and somebody who is not good at killer cage sums, I actually got quite stuck and turned around. This one took me a long time, but still loved it. Especially since I was able to solve it in the end :)

This was great. On top of oil coloring, I needed to use circles/crosses of all the colors, and a bunch of letters to narrow down the options to a breaking point. Really fun ride, thx for setting!

I really liked this puzzle! I didn't use colors outside of oil/water, I prefer using letters. Required a lot of thinking for me, but I never felt too lost.
As usual, thanks a lot for setting!

Smooth and fun

I don’t know how long I worked on this without remembering the knight’s move constraint. At the very end I had deadly pairs and I re-read the rules. The title of the puzzle alone should have been enough.

Had a great battle with this one. Coloring (not just oil and water cells) will go a long way in solving this one. Thanks for the awesome puzzle.

the oil/water separation is easy enough.
what's left is well beyond level 2

Pretty neat! Didn't take too long to figure out most of which digits are the same, and then it just took some math in notepad to figure out which digits those actually were.
By the end of it, I think I'd actually forgotten the first step involved an oil/water puzzle lol
