Broken Tulip -- Old Florists' Eight
Segment-set line Killers Kropki
Among the looms and shuttles of Spitalfields, the Tulip reigns as our silent master, its
petals striped and flamed like the richest damask we can throw. We study its breaks
as we study our patterns, for in each variegation lies a secret of craft. A perfect
bloom is a tapestry in miniature, wrought not by hand but by Providence itself.
Rules:
  • Normal sudoku rules apply.
  • Segment-set line: Box borders divide the gray line into segments. Each segment contains the same three digits.
  • Killers: Digits in a cage don't repeat. A cage with a given total sums to it. Not all cages have totals.
  • Partial Kropki: A white dot between two cells means the digits are consecutive. Not all dots are given.

Solved in just over 10 minutes, which usually would make things a 1* for me, but I believe there's enough tricks to know here to make it a 2* for most solvers, so kept it rated as that! Wonderful puzzle!

"All of the unknown sum cages don't seem to do anything logically. Are they there just for aesthetics?"

These are to hint to the solver where to look, in case the specific logic needed for this puzzle is not clear. I do feel it also adds to the balance and look of the puzzle as well.
