Extension Cord 104: Whispering Arrows

(Eingestellt am 29. Januar 2026, 08:30 Uhr von FireTruckFuel)

Welcome back and well done completing Extension Cord 103: Parity Sums from this series.

Hold up. You haven't seen the earlier installments from this series yet? We started with Extension Cord 101: Renban and followed it up with Extension Cord 102: Zipper.

Now that you are all caught up, and with just one more puzzle to come, I bet you are feeling pretty confident that you understand this rule. That's good because there are a few twists this time around. By now, you know that this series centers on an original clue called the Extension Cord but you haven't seen me use the double arrows on it yet and that's not even the crazy part. See the rules below to learn what I have in store for you. As always, helpful comments are welcome.

Solve on Sudokupad

Latin square: Place the digits 1-7 once each in every row and column.

Adjacent digits along the green German Whisper line must differ by 4 or more.

Digits on a yellow Nabner line are non-repeating and non-consecutive.

A black Kropki dot separates digits in a 2:1 ratio.

Digits along an arrow must sum to the digit in the arrows circle. The digits in two connected arrow circles, and the digits between them along the line must have the same sum.

A black Extension Cord line connects all other lines and arrows it touches so that, segments of the same line type are joined together by adjacent ends along its stretch, and double arrows are created when it connects two arrow circles. The length and path of an Extension Cord does not need to be assumed. It continues underneath other lines and does not branch unless specified. It may begin and end outside the grid to clarify its path or length.

Ready for the final puzzle? Extension Cord 105: Bomb Cyclone

Lösungscode: Column 7, top to bottom.

I was worried that the two cords were actually one, somehow connected by the arrow in rows 5-6, but luckily they're separate.

This has been brilliant. I must confess, I didn't like the Renban one too much and I think it is probably not the best choice to advertise for the new constraint - honestly I only did the second with the approach: "Okay, it's a 5x5, how hard can it be, just give it a go." and found it much much better.

So looking forward for the Bomb Cyclone, but I must say, this one here was a really great setting.

Enjoying the series so far. The first puzzle made me pause as I didn't fully grip how the extension cord worked but I'm liking this new constraint. Great work!

Yeah, I think I would have been better served doing the renban and the zipper together in a larger grid, possibility after this one. Definitely wouldn't have changed 103 though. Thank you.
