Herniated Ring-5
(Published on 28. October 2025, 17:56 by brtmns)
Normal sudoku rules apply.
Digits strictly increase along a thermometer, starting from the bulb.
A cell with a gray square must contain an even digit.
An X separates two digits that add to 10.
Digits cannot repeat within a cage, and the digits within a cage must add up to the total given in that cage’s upper-left corner.

Nice puzzle. But the solution path for this requires specific tricks that I would pin at 3* level.

I really enjoyed how similar (i.e. the parity constraint) and yet extremely different this was from the previous puzzle in the series! I particularly liked the break-in on this one.

Pretty easy if you know the "trick", probably pretty tough if you dont. Thanks for sharing. Another nice entry to this series.
