Heard No More 12

Normal Sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1-9 in each row, column and box without repetition.
German whispers: Adjacent digits on a green line must have a difference of at least 5. All German whisper lines have been given that would be vertical or horizontal. (i.e. There is a negative constraint, but this does not apply to diagonally adjacent digits.)
Thermometers: Digits on grey thermos must increase from the bulb to the tip.

This was surprisingly fun.
It took some time and for sure had some challenge, but at the same time it never felt hopeless so I think the 3* is probably spot on.

this is not level 2.
a good clue is that if you have to track candidate pairs (or worse) across the entire grid until deep in the solve, that's at least level 3
