Rose Puzzle 5 (The Apple Tree)

(Published on 13. September 2025, 12:26 by RailMan)

This is the 5th puzzle designed by my 8yo daughter Rose. It was inspired by an Apple Tree. We hope you enjoy it. Kind words for a young setter are always appreciated.

Normal sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1 - 6 once in every row, column and box.

Colored lines are parity lines. Adjacent digits on a line must alternate between odd and even.

Digits separated by a white dot are consecutive

For clarity, R5C4 is a 1

It is a lovely puzzle, quite engaging with the parity at play. Really liked the design, although I was a bit confused with the top line curving at rows 1 and 2 in the middle. Great work by your daughter, hope she continues to design puzzles!

Thank you to everyone for solving the puzzle. I know my daughters puzzles are easy - she is only 8 and she designs them by herself. I also check that she can solve them herself before I publish them.

We read all the comments together (and this time also watched FillTheGridSudoku solve it on YouTube) and it makes her very happy and motivated to make her next puzzle. She tells me the next one will be a horse.

So thank you again for taking a few minutes out of your day to encourage her passion for puzzles.

Well done Rose! I love how the Kropki dots act as apples on the tree :)

More relaxing than tv. The easiest is probably a puzzle called Test published a year ago.

Love the style and personal touch. Your puzzles are quick and easy, but unlike most quick and easy puzzles, they aren't trivial and they pack in some interesting solve paths. Very nice work.

Not that it's necessarily a bad thing, but this is by far the easiest puzzle I've done over here.
