This is the third puzzle designed by my 7yo daughter Rose. We hope you enjoy it. Kind words for a young setter are always appreciated.
Can you guess the special occasion?
Normal 6x6 sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1 - 6 once in every row, column and box.
Colored lines in the grid are parity lines. Adjacent digits on these lines must alternate between odd/even digits. For clarity, the line in the top left corner goes R3C3 - R2C3 - R1C3 - R1C2 - R2C2 - R2C3 - R3C3 (ie. it goes through R2C3 twice). Same in the top right corner.
Killer Cages: Digits in cages cannot repeat and must sum to the total shown.

The fact that several solvers, including yours truly, couldn't figure out the parities until Rail man took mercy on us, makes this a rare gem. A Mozart.
