Rose Puzzle 2

(Published on 13. July 2025, 13:00 by RailMan)

This is the second puzzle designed by my 7 y.o daughter Rose. We hope you enjoy it. Kind words for a young setter are always appreciated.

Normal 6x6 sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1 - 6 once in every row, column and box.

Parity Lines: Digits on parity lines alternate between even and odd digits.

White Kropki Dots: Digits separated by white dots must be consecutive.

Quadruple: The digits in the circle must all appear in the cells touched by the circle.

Thank you, Rose, for such a lovely puzzle. I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and continue to enjoy solving and setting puzzles with your father. I have four sons myself (aged 8 - 13) and they would be very jealous of your sudoku skills! Keep up the good work!

A breezy charming solve, and great application of geometry on the parity lines!

RailMan: Thanks! She wanted to create a puzzle that looked like a lady in a red dress.

I am loving the Rose puzzle series! It is so great to hear a parent solving sudokus with their kids, I wish my parents had done that. I definitely plan on doing this whenever I have kids. Sometimes I get bored and end up dragging my dog with me to sit next to me and learn sudoku XD

RailMan: Thanks! We have been solving sudokus together for about a year. I created a lot of puzzles for her with the things she is learning in school (letters, numbers, basic addition, odds/evens, etc...). She enjoyed solving them but now she is creating new puzzles with me which is a whole new challenge for both of us.
