Oil, Water, Renban

(Published on 18. September 2023, 16:00 by Blobz)

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Pink lines contain a set of non-repeating consecutive digits in any order.

Digits in cages do not repeat and must sum to the small clue, if given.

Each cage is either full of "oil" (even digits), full of "water" (odd digits), or a mix of both. In all cases, each "row" within a cage is of just one type (oil or water). Oil floats on water, so even digits will always be in rows above odd digits in mixed cages.

Great puzzle! Really exited with setup and interaction between boxes, boxes and lines, and then lines between themselves!
Full odd-even colouring completed and after that had to colour additional 3 boxes, but this was a pure delight!

One of my favorite sudoku hybrids is Yin Yang. This oil and water ruleset is scratching a very similar itch. I like how the rules split the grid into tow complimentary puzzles. Very fun

Loving the oil series. I found it tricky getting the first couple of digits in but once I got the 3rd in, with all the logic on my lines the whole thing crumbled it was so satisfying.
