Uncircled Arrows

(Published on 28. January 2023, 15:37 by Samish)

If you don't mind some case checking and keep doing the sudoku homework along the solve, this puzzle should be a rewarding experience.

The same ruleset has been used (at least) by Christoph Seeliger before in these two very nice puzzles, which I wasn't aware of when setting. Interestingly, we tackled the ruleset from very different angles.
The idea came to me after solving Jay Dyer's Ambiguous Arrow sudoku.

Have fun solving!

Rules :

Normal sudoku rules apply. Digits separated be a white dot must be consecutive. Digits separated by a black dot must be in a 1:2 ratio.
Draw a circle in one of the cells of each line. The digit in the circle gives the sum of the digits towards either of the remaining ends of the line.
(For clarity : the circle can be at an extremity of a line in which case there is only one resulting arrow.)

This was quite the interesting concept. I don't think I'd ever thought to make arrows like this before. Very cool puzzle Samish, thanks for sharing it! :)
