Odd Pentominos Sudoku IV

(Published on 15. April 2020, 01:30 by Eggr)

This is the 4th and final "Odd Pentomino Sudoku" puzzle.

It is the hardest of the group, so if you prefer slightly easier puzzles you can try the other 3:
Puzzle 1 Puzzle 2 Puzzle 3

Odd Pentominos Sudoku

Rules:
Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Two of the 3x3 boxes have their odd digits marked in grey. In each remaining box the odd digits form the shape of a unique pentomino.

Clarifications / Errata:
Rotations and Reflections of the shown pentominos are allowed, but each labeled shape can only be used once.

List of all possible pentominos is included for reference only. 7 of the 8 are used in this puzzle.

This concludes all of the puzzles I expect to create with "odd pentomino" rules. Thank you to everyone who solved any, or all, of them.

If you have any feedback on the series as a whole (difficulty, release timings, etc) please leave me a comment below. I'm already working on a second puzzle series with a new set of rules, and appreciate any suggestions.

An excellent little series, I enjoyed it thoroughly, and even felt like I was getting better at the Pentomino logic by the end. It was interesting that the earlier puzzles had extra rules (killer/little killer), while the later ones were simpler.

This is indeed a really nice series of puzzles. I had a lot of fun solving them.

That was a very nice puzzle series. I solved them during these quite calm, cause of coronavirus, days at work. Not too easy, not too hard, just fine. Well done!

Nice series of puzzles; thanks.

I used the non-repetition constraint at least twice for this one.

@Ours brun
Thanks for the feedback. That's an interesting point about the non-repetition, because my intended solution path definitely relied on it. Now I'm curious about what shortcut circumvents it, and how many others found a different path.
