Ambiguous Renbans and Whispers continue to be intriguing—this time with Region Sum Lines. Difficulty estimated at 3-3.5 stars. For a warm up, see Aftershock.
Rules:
Normal Sudoku: Place the digits 1 to 9 in every row, column, and 3x3 box.
Certainty—Region Sum Lines
- Each line is a Region Sum line
- Digits on a Region Sum line have an equal sum N within each box that the line passes through
- If a line passes through the same box more than once, each individual segment within that box sums to N separately (note Box 2)
- Different lines may have different sums
Ambiguity—Renbans or Whispers
- Additionally, each line is either a Renban line or a German Whisper line, such that:
- Digits on a Renban line form a set of consecutive digits in any order
- Adjacent digits on a German Whisper line differ by at least 5
