This is a puzzle that was inspired by misreading the rules of Black_Doom's puzzle Whirlpool, which I would reccomend.

Rules:
Sudoku: Each row, column, and region must contain the digits 1-9 once each.
German Whisper Lines: Adjacent cells along a German Whisper Line must differ by at least 5.
Sandwich Sums: Clues outside the grid indicate the sum of digits between the 1 and 9 in the indicated row or column.

No checking enabled, but I made a sudokupad version here: (removed).

cornishjohn: Please do not share links to my puzzles on different sites without permission.

sfield: Ok, sorry about that. I don't understand why there is suddenly a big push toward a different app. No problem with presenting an alternative competing app, but clearly a lot of people prefer Sudokupad and I don't know why some puzzlers are now excluding that in favor of a new one. Is there a commercial interest in the new one? People generally don't like feeling like they are being pushed into something new when they liked the old thing already.

cornishjohn: I can't talk for other setters but personally I far prefer the solving, setting and sharing process on SudokuBank. The 'big push' is perhaps since others agree and want to share a very new platform with the community. There is no money involved.

Sfield; Ok. Thanks. I find it weird to insist upon the new one that you like better rather than making it an option. I certainly understand not doing the extra work to make it available on a different platform, but I don't really get taking down my link. But it's your call. Nice puzzle regardless and thanks for sharing your perspective.

Nice puzzle, could you add a sudokupad as well as sudokubank?

cornishjohn: Thank you. No, I would prefer for various reasons to not do so.
