• Normal 9x9 sudoku rules apply.
• Chroma Key: Some clues in the grid are only partially visible. Thermometers are only visible in boxes 1, 3, 5, and 7. Cages are only visible in boxes 2, 4, 6, and 8.
• Cages: Digits in a cage cannot repeat and must sum to the number in the top-left corner of the cage. This number is given for all cages, and always appears in the leftmost cell of the highest row reached by the cage. If the upper-leftmost cell is invisible, then the cage total will also be invisible.
• Thermometers: Digits on a thermometer strictly increase from bulb to tip.
• (note: If two orthogonally adjacent cells belong to the same cage then there won't be a cage boundary between them; e.g., r3c2 is part of the r4c2 cage, but r3c1 is not part of this cage because of r4c1)
