A spiritual successor to my puzzle Nine Quilts. This originally had a slightly different ruleset, however realised fairly late into the construction that it didn't work quite how I wanted it to. Because of that, I had to rewrite the rules a little bit, and hence the slightly awkward wording. The solution remains more or less the same though, so I hope you still have fun solving! :)
Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply: place the digits 1-9 once in each row, column, and box.
- Killer Cages: Digits in a cage must not repeat, and sum to the total in the upper-left corner.
- Thermometer: Digits on a thermometer increase from bulb end.
- Orthogonally adjacent cells *must not* have digits whose difference is a multiple of 4. Additionally, cells which are "box-opposite" *must* have digits whose difference is a multiple of 4.
(Two cells are "box-opposite" if they are in the same box and they line up after that box is rotated 180 degrees. For example, if R2C3 and R2C1 are box-opposite, as are R4C7 and R6C9.)
