Misslines

Misslines

I made this for a setting saturday prompt for Hitlines, but I seem to have missed the mark. Here is my take on the Hitlines genre first developed by Marty Sears and Ratfinkz.

Rules

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Digits separated by a white dot are consecutive.

A mint green square is the starting position for a missline and its digit gives the 'miss total' for that line. A 'miss total' is the sum of all of the positions where the digit does not match the position number. Digits may repeat on misslines if allowed by other rules. e.g. 927496 is a valid missline as positions 1, 3, and 5 are missed and 1+3+5=9.

Very nice new constraint! Definitely needed some thinking about what the ruleset implies, and a smooth solve follows. Thank you for this amazing puzzle blackjackfitz, and I wonder if this would be incorporated into other future puzzles :)

Excellent! Took a bit of getting my head round the twist in the rules, but then very clean logic.
