Chaotic Skies
I made this puzzle as part of Scojo's Imposter event. Here I was meant to imitate mnasti2. There were many great puzzles to choose from but I chose to imitate this moon or sun puzzle
Rules
The grid has to be divided into nine regions of orthogonally connected cells. Each row, column and region has to contain the digits 1-9 once each.
In this puzzle, the digits 1, 4, and 7 are “moons,” 2, 5, and 8 are “suns,” and 3, 6, and 9 are neither. Every cage contains at least one sun and at least one moon.
Draw a non-branching, non-intersecting, orthogonally connected loop through the centers of some cells. The loop visits each cage exactly once. Within a cage, the loop passes through all moons and no suns, or all suns and no moons. The loop may not pass through the same type of clue (sun versus moon) in two consecutively visited cages. The loop may pass freely through any uncaged cell.
Digits do not repeat in cages and sum to the number in the top left of the cage, if given. All of the cells in a cage belong to the same region.
Thick black lines between two cells are walls. Walls always separate two regions and the loop may not pass through a wall.
Lösungscode: Row 9

The rules could use a bit of clarifying: within a cage, the line can also travel through "neither" digits. Maybe it could say it "must past through at least one sun or one moon and neither of the other" or something like that.
bjf: To be clear, you are allowed to pass through "neither" digits in a cage. But you must pass through all of the Sun digits and no moon digits, or all moon and no sun digits.

Thank you very much for creating and sharing this brutally hard CC-puzzle. Of course I love it!

This is such a fantastic piece of setting, I’m really impressed! I started very focused on the sun/moon constraint, got stuck for a bit and realised all the other bits of logic that I had been ignoring. It all connects so beautifully without feeling like there’s an obvious next step to always follow. I actually rated it 4 stars (maybe a 4-4.5?) even though it took me 1h20 to finish because it never felt like the logic was insanely difficult, it’s just very intricate and requires you to think things through in different ways. The hardest part might have just been how to colour cells/draw lines to keep track of sun/moon, loop, and CC regions haha. Very fun, and I recommend anyone who likes CC or loop puzzles to try this one, don’t be scared off by the 5-star rating!
