Play the sudoku here:
Rules:
Fill each row, column and 3×3 box with the digits 0–8.
Shade some cells such that both the shaded and the unshaded cells are orthogonally connected and no 2×2 square is either fully shaded or entirely unshaded. Some shaded cells are given in grey.
In each 3×3 box, the sum of the digits in the shaded cells equals the sum of the digits in the unshaded cells.
Each clue outside the grid gives the sum of the first X shaded cells in the indicated row or column, counting from the direction of the clue. X is the digit in the first cell of that row or column, i.e. the cell closest to the clue. Therefore, each row or column with an outside clue must contain at least X shaded cells.

Brilliant puzzle! Got stuck early on until I remembered the rule about boxes being equally divided

Very nice and challenging puzzle! I only wish that I could write the 0's in. At the end my solution appeared wrong and it took me forever to notice that was because of a filled in 0. Thanks
Reply: Thanks for your comment. Yeah, I was having some difficulty with sudoku pad allowing 0's in the finished solution but had another try and got it to work and have updated the puzzle link accordingly. Cheers
