If anyone wondered what I did the last couple of month: I worked hard on a full Sudoku game called Sudoku Mansion, a game where over 50 handcrafted Variant Sudokus form one interconnected mansion, full with interesting mechanics, music and story. Digits in grey circles are odd. Digits in grey squares are even.
Cave logic: Shade some cells in the grid such that all unshaded cells are orthogonally connected to each other and all shaded cells are orthogonally connected to the edge of the grid.
All unshaded cells are odd.
All shaded cells are even.

Added missing even rectangles/odd circles here. The puzzle itself did not get changed.

Found it simpler than I was expecting.
Couldn't get to grips with the "shade some cells".
I coloured All cells either even or odd.
Connected with touching sides-
Even to (E)dge
Odd to All (O)ther (O)dds.
Worked out if a Battenberg pattern, also known as a checkerboard pattern, would or wouldn't work in the puzzle.
