Divide the grid into nine orthogonally connected regions. Place the digits 1-9 exactly once into each row, column and region. A digit in an arrow cell equals the number of cells in the indicated direction (excluding the arrow cell itself), which belong to the same region as the arrow cell, until the first cell from a different region is encountered. In cells with multiple arrows, the digit applies to each direction separately. Not all arrows are necessarily given.

Very approachable! Gentle and suitable for people who want to get into CC world. The solve path is very intuitive and obvious where to look next. I rated it as a 1* difficulty, however resolving some digits may dip into low 2* territory

Beautiful puzzle. The region creation might just squeak into 1*, but there is plenty of sudoku still to get through after that. I gave it 2* for difficulty overall, but 6 for loveliness.
