Voyage to Tahiti (nurikabe)

(Eingestellt am 29. Juli 2026, 22:26 Uhr von DubiousMobius)

This puzzle was created for Scojo's weekly prompt, this time themed around hit lines. I was curious how they might interact with nurikabe, and this was the result. Big thanks to both the CTC and Sudoku Stream Team discords for help with testing. If you enjoy the puzzle, I've also linked an early draft that has a different ending. It has some tricky spots, and isn't as smooth a solve, but I think it also has some neat logic that I wasn't able to include in this version, so I'm leaving it here for anyone curious (Sudokupad will probably try to carry over your markings between the puzzles). All feedback is welcome and appreciated, and hope you enjoy!

Rules:

Nurikabe: Shade the grid with two colors, one representing the sea, and one representing islands. The sea must be formed by a single orthogonally connected set of cells, and no 2x2 in the grid may be entirely sea.

Hit Lines: If an island cell is on a line then the position of that cell along the line determines the number of cells in that island, with the octagon representing position 1 on the line. Every island must have at least one cell on a hit line.

For answer check, place digits on island hit line cells, and zeros on hitline cells that are part of the sea.

Lösungscode: The number of island cells in each of the first 4 columns (4 numbers total)

Very cool ruleset. I was initially very stumped at how it could possibly give enough information to get started, which was quite intriguing
