- Normal 9x9 sudoku rules apply.
- "Why was six afraid of seven?": The group of (up to eight) cells around a 6 may not contain a 7, and no pair of orthogonally adjacent digits entirely within this group may sum to 7.
- "Because seven ate nine": Each 9 in the grid has at least one orthogonally adjacent 7.
- Digits in cages sum to the number in the top-left corner (if given) and cannot repeat.
