Welcome to Clue Boxes! I came up with this Sudoku series based on wooden puzzle boxes, where one small discovery leads to the next. Each puzzle works in a similar way: follow the clues, unlock the next step and see where they take you.

Rules:

Normal sudoku rules apply

Fog: All but one of the puzzle boxes are closed 'fog'. Fill in the correct numbers for the boxes to open.

Region sum lines: Box borders divide a line into segments that have the same sum (all segments in the same box count towards the same total). Digits on a line may not repeat. Region sum lines cannot branch or split.

Dutch Whisper lines: Adjacent digits on the orange line must differ by at least 4. Digits on a line may repeat if allowed by other rules.
