My thermometers are melting!

Thanks to all who attended Sudokucon 2026. This puzzle was set for a quiz where the goal was to quickly locate the value of one cell that was surprisingly under pressure. If you wish to play along at home, the cell under pressure is noted below in a spoiled comment. However, the puzzle is still entirely solvable and I think has some interesting logic beyond the break-in. Good luck!
- Normal sudoku rules apply: Place the digits 1 to 9 once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box
- Thermometers: Digits along a purple thermometer strictly increase from the bulb end

There were no grey thermos, unless I have gone blind.
Damo: Good catch. Updated the thermo colour to match the sudokucon styling and forgot to check the rules. Silly me.

Very, very nice setting! Probably some tricky steps to those not super confident with thermos, but the steps along the way were fantastic. Bravo!
