Parity Loop Quest #4

(Published on 3. July 2026, 08:14 by Vythic)

Play on SudokuPad!

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Parity Pivot Loop: Form a one-cell-wide loop that moves through the grid orthogonally. The loop does not touch itself, not even diagonally.

A loop cell is an odd digit if the loop moves straight through it, and is an even digit if the loop does a 90 degree turn at its location.

Loop Arrows: A digit on an arrow indicates how many loop cells are in the direction of the arrow, not counting the arrow cell.

Loop Thermometers: Digits along a thermometer ascend from the bulb. If a cell on a thermometer is a loop cell, then every cell on that thermometer with a higher digit than it is also a loop cell.

Loop Renban Lines: There is exactly one loop cell on each pink line. A pink line contains a consecutive set of digits in any order, without repeats.

Loop Xs: Cells separated by an X are not loop cells, and digits separated by an X sum to 10.

Example of a valid loop shape (the white cells inside the loop cannot be cut off from each other, and a 2x2 block of cells cannot all be loop cells):

(Puzzles throughout this series use the same loop rules, and visually identical elements have the same meaning).

Great puzzle! I missed this one at first and with the experience I have now, it was easy after a pretty tough break-in: it was like a game of Jenga where everything all of a sudden collapsed. Very enkoyable, thanks

Vythic, I'm enjoying this series, thanks. For me, this one was much easier than the first "Parity Loop Quest". I rated this 2 stars instead of 3.

What a lovely rule to let parity determine whether the loop goes straight or not. For me, the start was 3* worthy, whereas it was smooth sailing afterwards. Thanks for setting!
