Corgi (Tentropy/Anti-Queen Quattroquadri)

(Published on 19. June 2026, 01:12 by damo_89)

Anti-Queen (or anti-bishop) is not a constraint I was minded to work with. I knew that a 9x9 sudoku grid could not be globally anti-queen on all digits. However, turns out that global anti-queen works fine in a quattroquadri, in fact it's not even that constrained. I hope other setters will explore this pairing of constraints. I think this is probably 3 star logic, but pitching as a 2 star because the puzzle is small so I expect it to land there. Good luck!

If you are used to normal tentropy, please note the variant here, where 5s are permitted.

  • Quattroquadri: Place the digits 1 to 9 without repetition in each row, column, and 3x3 box
  • Anti-Queen: No digit may repeat a Queen's move away (in chess), i.e. no digit may appear more than once on any diagonal of this puzzle
  • Tentropy (variant): A run of 5 cells along an orange tentropy line must contain one digit from each pair that sums to 10, i.e. one digit from (1, 9), one from (2, 8), one from (3, 7), one from (4, 6), and the digit 5
  • Kropki: A white dot separates cells which are consecutive. A black dot separates cells where one is double the other. No negative constraint

My solve for this was a LOT faster than T-Rex... because I watched Scojo solve it whilst drinking.

Damo: who was drinking and did it help?
