Empty Chessboard

(Published on 10. June 2026, 06:30 by addie)

Standard 9x9 sudoku rules apply.

Antiknight and Antiking: Any two cells separated by a knight's or king’s move in chess cannot contain the same digit.

Ratio Kropki Dots: Digits separated by a black dot have a 2:1 ratio. Not all dots are necessary given.

XV: Digits separated by an X sum to 10, those separated by a V sum to 5. Not all Xs and Vs are necessarily given.

Ended up having to do a bunch of bifurcation, but I'd REALLY be curious to know what the intended break-in is (in a hidden comment, so it doesn't spoil it for those who haven't completed it yet)

This was absolutely brutal for me. While I know that the combined chess constraints force [spoiler], I am not able to explain/prove it myself, so decides to take that grind of narrowing down options to maybe learn. Took me an eternity and while I am glad, I made it, I'd still like to learn the proof.

I agree with BellBear, I think it's unfair to assume it's a bad puzzle because you can't find the break-in.
You are welcome to ask for help here or to search for miracle puzzles solves on Youtube to understand the solving path.

Anyway, nice puzzle @addie, thank you for submitting! I would actually rate it 2* on difficulty (assuming the solver being familiar with the ruleset)

@iEtsh: Just becauseyou didn't find a logical way to move forward, does not mean there ist none!

In fact, I found the break-in very satisfying, but from there on it was just filling in digits.

A bad puzzle , has no logical steps to move forward, lots of bruteforces .. and still no way for progression
