Solved it in the end but, wow, this is not easy at all. Found myself constantly asking "where do I look next?" Definitely 4 star at least.

Excellent puzzle with interesting interactions. Not so hard for me, but does require some thinking near the start. Quite surprising that the two givens are enough to disambiguate everything.
-- Thank you @Fool on Hill, it's always great to hear from you! Glad you enjoyed it. Choosing the given digits ended up being the hardest part of setting this one - two digits are needed for disambiguation, I couldn't do it with one, but all the other placements I tried ruined the opening logic!
