Supersquish

(Eingestellt am 10. Mai 2026, 01:49 Uhr von marty_sears)

Here's a pack of 10 mini puzzles, based on a new idea from ViKingPrime. The pack is a 4-way mega-collab between ViKingPrime, Justin Vitanza, ThePedallingPianist, and myself.

    Rules:

SUPERSQUISH Fill each grid with the digits 1-9 so that digits don't repeat in any row, column, or any of the five coloured 3x3 boxes. Each puzzle will have an additional line rule included - discover these as you go along.

Lösungscode: Top row of the final grid, from left to right

I loved it ! The tens is a cherry on top where you have to rethink everything you learned (and read carefully not to make false asumptions).

I'm not sure what it says about me and the way I think, but I found Marty's puzzles *significantly* easier than the others - not because they were easier necessarily, just because I think I've learned pretty well how Marty's puzzle setting brain works through experience and almost instinctively kept moving to exactly the right thing to look at next.

An excellent pack all round, and what a fascinating idea!

Marty: I think it's fair to say mine are the easiest ones of the pack... I don't think many people would disagree with that

Fantastic set of puzzles. Particularly enjoyed the final puzzle subverting the logic I'd built in the previous nine. Very enjoyable solve. Thank you all.

I got them all except for #10, the S-Cell puzzle. I just can't break that one in!

Wow very creative. Thought I had it all figured out and then that last one was real tough. Super fun. Thanks for putting this all together.

What a challenge this was! Though some of the puzzles were quite easy - to solve ten in a row nearly broke my poor old brain… Thank you all for creating and sharing this great pack.

Great pack! Most of them were really approachable, teaching me how to approach the puzzles and some were more challenging, especially the anti-kropki and the s-cell. I enjoyed it a lot, thanks

I really want to like this one. Very original rules, and I always enjoy a series of mini puzzles. Well, almost always.
The first one was fun. Very doable, and a nice introduction to supersquish.
In the second one I got stuck after a handful of obvious, and some less obvious, observations. Eventually I just used trial and error to prove one digit. It worked, and the rest of the puzzle was fine, but that's not a proper way to solve it.
And then the third one. There's barely anything to restrict the digits. I've been staring at it for quite a while, but I'm clueless. I must be missing something obvious.
That's when I decided to give up. Maybe I could get through them all, eventually, but when it isn't fun, what's the point?

Marty: I hear ya. This is definitely a challenging pack. I can understand that if you find it too tough to progress then it stops being fun, but I guess this level will be different for everyone. Some of the puzzles in this pack that were not set by me, I found very hard myself. But in the end, I thought the steps were all very fair, even if tricky to spot. Definitely bifurcation / looking several steps ahead is not needed. There are quite a few global properties to be discovered about this grid set-up that help a lot

Just like Beethoven's symphonies, my favorites were the odd ones! In particular 9, 7, 5, 3, 1, in that order. I did not fully rank the remaining puzzles.
