Normal sudoku rules apply.
Rossini: Arrows indicate the direction in which the first three digits in that row or column (nearest the arrow) increase or decrease. For instance, r7c1 is less than r7c2 is less than r7c3. If no arrow appears adjacent to a row or column, the three nearest digits must not be in increasing or decreasing order (that is, the central digit must be the highest or lowest).

I'm confused by the rules saying increase or decrease. If it could be either one, couldn't the arrow point in either direction?
Based on your example, I'm guessing the direction of the arrow always indicates which way it increases. Is that correct?
[Yes that's right, sorry I could have been clearer! -z]
Thanks so much, I really appreciate the clarification!

Thank you very much for creating and sharing this wonderful puzzle. And for reminding us of the old Rossini- constraint in such a perfect setting.

Absolutely stunning logic, the way the deductions race across the grid feels like an intricate dance, and there was always another thread to pull on somewhere until the whole thing unravelled.

This was one of the best sudokus I've ever solved.

Very nice, clean solve. Can I offer a suggestion for the rules? The arrow indicates the direction of increase, not increase or decrease. Thx for another entertaining puzzle!
