Fantastic puzzle. I started, stared in bafflement after a few steps, convinced myself it was impossible, re-read the rules, said “a-ha!”, started over, got a bit further, decided it was impossible again, went and did a couple of other X-sums puzzles to reassure myself I hadn’t entirely forgotten how they work, came back and stared in bafflement at the rules here again, said “ohhhh”, started over a third time, and finally got through — smooth as, if not quite butter, then a perfect creamy asparagus soup. Again, fantastic puzzle.
