Icebreaker (Icelom Nurikabe)

Rules

  • Nurikabe:
    • Shade some cells so that all shaded cells are orthogonally connected and no 2x2 area is fully shaded.
    • Each group of orthogonally connected unshaded cells must contain exactly one number, which indicates the size of its unshaded group.

  • Icelom:
    • Draw a path through the centers of all shaded cells and some unshaded cells, entering and exiting the grid at the marked arrows.
    • Two perpendicular line segments may intersect each other only on unshaded cells, but they may not turn at their intersection or otherwise overlap.
    • The path may not turn on unshaded cells.
    • The path must pass through the numbers 1 to N once each in increasing order. The value of N must be determined by the solver.

  • If a number is unshaded and on the path, it must obey the Nurikabe and Icelom rules simultaneously.

  • A question mark may represent any number, but if a question mark is unshaded and on the path, the same number must obey the Nurikabe and Icelom rules.
