About This Puzzle
This is the fifth edition of "Dazed Out", a puzzle series primarily built around the Sudoku variant "Chaos Construction".
For this week I decided to re-visit a constraint I haven't used in a long time, the lockout lines. Having triple constraints on diamond cells led to some interesting ideas, I hope you enjoy.
RULES
-
1. Chaos Construction: Divide the grid into 9 regions that each consist of 9 orthogonally connected cells. Place the digits 1-9 in every row, column and region once each.
-
2. Diamonds: 2. A digit in a diamond indicates the number of cells that belong to its region in its row and column combined, counting itself once. Region borders block vision for this count.
-
3. Also Diamonds: For a digit N in a diamond, there are a total of N diamonds on the grid that contain the same digit.
-
4. Lockout Lines: Digits inside of the diamonds on both ends of a line must have a difference of at least 4, and the digits on the line itself must NOT be between them. Each lockout line must go through exactly 3 different regions.
-
5. Kropki: Digits separated by a black dot have a ratio of 1:2.
Lösungscode: Digits of the region that contain the given 3, in normal reading order. (Left-Right, Top-Down)
