DYNAMIC FOG
- The grid is covered in fog. Placing a correct digit will clear the fog in that cell and may clear fog elsewhere.
- No guessing is required.
THERMOMETERS
- Digits strictly increase along a thermometer, starting from the bulb.
- Thermometers only move orthogonally, and do not branch, overlap, or share bulbs.
- The temperature (T) of a thermometer appears in its bulb. A thermometer of temperature T must be T cells long.
- No thermometer is 5 degrees.
KILLER CAGES
- Digits in a cage do not repeat, and must sum to the small number in the top left corner of that cage.
NEGATIVE V
- No two adjacent pairs of digits, anywhere in the grid, may sum to 5.

here's why.
1) thermometer bulbs are SEVERELY constrained.
1a) their arrangement limits them even more.
1b) use the PEN TOOL that sven has given us.
2) the NEGATIVE CONSTRAINT gives you 40% of the digits immediately.
then it's just basic sudoku.
3) there is ONE tricky part in the second half, but a spot of SIMPLE COLOURING resolves it.
all of the above is well within the reach of beginners.
