Confusion

(Published on 20. March 2026, 00:00 by NXTMaster)

A very long time ago, I made a puzzle with what I called "Disjoint MIN/MAX" rules. Recently, I revisited the idea and decided to make a 6x6 just for fun.

The rules are as follows:
  • Place the digits 1-6 once in every row, column, and box such that the digit in row 2 column 1 [r2c1] is greater than the digit in r2c2.
  • Littler Killer: The number by an arrow indicates the sum of the digits along the indicated diagonal.
  • Disjoint Groups: Each "group" is made up of cells in the same relative position in boxes. Digits may not repeat within each group.
  • Disjoint MIN/MAX: Digits in gray cells must be greater than (when the arrows point outward) or less than (when the arrows point inward) the digits in the adjacent cells of the disjoint group (i.e., r3c3 must be greater than r1c3, r3c6, and r5c3 while r4c4 must be less than r2c4, r4c1, and r6c4).

The puzzle is available on SudokuPad. Have fun solving!

Solution code: The diagonal from r1c1 to r6c6 (6 digits)
