• Normal sudoku rules apply: Place the digits 1-9 once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box.
• Balance Path: Draw a path that moves orthogonally through the centers of some cells, starting and ending at the indicated cells. The path visits every circle.
• Whenever the path visits a white circle, the lengths of the straight line segments going in and out of the circle must have equal length. The number in the circle indicates the sum of these two segment lengths. Additionally, the number in the circle indicates the difference between the sums of those segments.
• Whenever the path visits a black circle, the lengths of the straight line segments going in and out of the circle must have unequal length. The number in the circle indicates the sum of these two segment lengths. Additionally, the number in the circle indicates the ratio of the sums of those segments.
• Clarification: Segments are considered as starting in the cells adjacent to the circle on the path, and ending in the cells containing the next turns (or ends) of the path. For example, for a part of the path that looked like 4(TURN), 2, 3(BLACK CIRCLE), 2(END), the two segments extending from the black circle would be a length 2 segment consisting of 4 and 2, and a length 1 segment consisting of 2. That satisfies the black circle by the segment lengths totaling to 3, and the segment sums of 6 and 2 being in a 3:1 ratio. Please see the example puzzle below for further clarification.
