(Published on 13. June 2026, 15:57 by Villse)

Hope you enjoy! :)

Links to the previous parts of the series are given after the rules.

Rules:

Normal Sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1-9 once in every row, column and 3x3 box.

Anti-Knight: Cells separated by a knight’s move in chess cannot contain the same digit.

Palindromes: Digits along a grey line must read the same forwards and backwards.

XV: Cells separated by a V sum to 5; cells separated by an X sum to 10. Not all Vs and Xs are necessarily given.

Negative diagonal: Digits along the negative diagonal cannot repeat.

X-Sums: Digits outside the grid represent the sum of the first X digits in that direction, with X being the digit in the first seen cell.

I had some trouble getting a good grip to start wrangling it...
but after I coloured the XV and used letters for the rest of box 5 (morphing into colours as I go) I finally got to a point where it budged.
Nice set up.
I like puzzle that solve uniquely w/o any digit in and the numerical disambiguation is essentially just the way to get the Solution code ;-)

Love the series a LOT!

I went to use the disambiguation clue and for some reason thought it was a sandwich clue instead of an X-sum -- it turns out there's a unique solution that way too, funnily enough, though it's a different one than the expected one.

@iEtsh

The following hint is a spoiler, so I threw in letters to hide it:

"Ink rout sadel dim artichliest ochrai one the raq rustin tree a clearat roulosyed frix nos astechs ear locedo clason rasin nangol arpear voloce emasiosed."

Read only every 3rd character (including spaces), starting with the 1st one.

Feel free to ask for more hints if this was not helpful.

Is the 38 a key to make progress or a last-third touch ?

Feel like I missed something as I found some of the spots in the puzzle quite tough.
