There are 45 distinct numbers, 9-digits each, which will be ranked from 1 to 45 with rank 1 corresponding to the lowest value and rank 45 corresponding to the highest. Each row and column contributes two 9-digit numbers (one for each direction), and each box contributes one 9-digit number (read in Western reading order).
A value in an external cell represents the rank of the number formed by reading the digits in that row or column from that direction. - Circles:
A circle outside of the grid indicates that sum of the first X, X-1, or X+1 cells (as indicated by the text in the circle) is equal to the rank, where X is the digit closest to the clue.
All possible circles are given. - Cages:
Digits in a cage sum to the rank of the 9-digit number corresponding to the box which contains the cage.
