Agree that the puzzle is unique now. Thanks for fixing.

This is an excellent puzzle. Thanks for fixing it. Sadly the rating does not do justice to the fixed version

All, @Merovius @pms_headache @StefanSch @Fool on Hill @damo_89 @Jafacake @geronimo92 @Jasperrr Thanks to all for commenting. I apologize that the original puzzle was not unique. When a setter makes a mistake in pencil marking, the results can be catastrophic. I hope to have your grace on this one. I have added one Kropki dot in box 9 to make the puzzle unique. The rating of 2 stars probably still holds. Peace to you. -Will Power

Running into the same issue. I've reached the stage of @Merovius first screenshot.
I've tried pencil marking the thermometer and column 4, and I see no reason for r8c4 needing to be a 6 instead of a 5.

From what I can tell, this is a different solution, fulfilling all constraints: https://ibb.co/k2pg0k0j
I just got there by first using 171 for the arms (to guarantee a different solution) and then randomly guessing, every time I didn't immediately see how to move on.

@Will Power: I don't see a reason why it shouldn't be 171.
FWIW, I think it is pretty straight forward to get here. How to move on is unclear to me: https://ibb.co/Nd4Nfxr7
@Merovius Thanks for explaining your current position. If you develop the thermometer and column 4 with pencil marking, you will be at this position: https://f-puzzles.com/?id=23je6s58 Then, if you input 7 in R2C4, then look at where 8'S are forced into light green around the board. Column 2 loses its ability to have 8 when R4C2 is eliminated. Peace to you. -Will Power

Hello, all. @Merovius @pms_headache @StefanSch @Fool on Hill @damo_89 The student on the right has an arm that must be (12), 6, (12). The 6 resolves a (56) in row 5 to be a 5. Therefore the left arm is 2, 5, 2. This resolves most, or all (12) pairs in the puzzle. There is only one correct solution. Peace to you. -Will Power

I think pms_headache is right. There are multiple solutions if you choose the "wrong" value for R2C4 and R5C6.

Fun puzzle! Very tricky with these "arms". Thank you. :-)

If this is one star, I must be overlooking something incredibly obvious. Because I've been stuck at the same point for half an hour and the only way forward I can see is to make a very lucky guess…
