Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply, i.e. each row, column and 3x3 region has to contain the digits from 1 to 9 once each.
- Diagonals: On the main diagonals digits do not repeat.
- Killer Cages: Digits in a cage must sum to the clue in the top left.
Here you can solve the puzzle online:
Solution code: Column 5 from top to bottom (9 digits in total)

Some really fun logic, especially in the break-in. I didn’t find any bifurcation necessary, though I can see what that could be tempting early on.

Thank you for your comment, Innocuous! I am glad you had a fun solve.

For me personally it was a 4* but then again I have trouble with some 1*. Did get it done with a lot of bifurcating and checking. But the aha moments and the fact that i solved it in the end (as opposed to giving up) made it fun.

Thank you for your comment, SanFranSam! I am glad that you liked the puzzle. In my intended solve path, there is no bifurcation required. If you like me to explain my intended steps at some point, please let me know in a hidden comment.

Yeah, low 3* for me. The break is fairly nuanced. But a fun puzzle in any case!

Had a lot of fun testing this one! Not hard at all if you're used to thinking about cages that have similar totals and know how to think a bit about diagonals strategically, but elegant nonetheless.

Thank you for your lovely comment and thanks again for testing, PhoenixAki! I am glad that you liked the puzzle and found it to be more approachable. As you say, it probably depends a lot on prior killer sudoku experience.

Thank you for this wonderful gift, Sujoyku! Felt more like a 2* for me but that could also be due to the constant exercise over the past years because your puzzles are across the board high-class and I don't wanna miss a thing.
