This was set in collaboration with aqjhs for Scojo's Setting Saturday prompts. juggler redeemed phase I of this prompt to create a puzzle that uses a self-invented constraint.

Thanks to ChinStrap for testing!

Rules:

  • Normal 6x6 sudoku rules apply on each grid.

  • Both grids are considered as a single grid of complex numbers: A pair of corresponding cells in both grids is considered as a single complex number A+Bi where A is the digit in the real grid and B is the digit in the imaginary grid. (e.g. the cell r6c5 is a given 3+4i complex number.)

  • Red lines are split by box borders into segments with the same complex product.

  • Note: The product of two complex numbers is (A+Bi)(C+Di) = (AC-BD)+(AD+BC)i

Solution code: Digits of the real part of row 4 followed by the digits of the imaginary part of row 4, both left to right

As a mathematician this was very nice puzzle, I wish I could set it myself.
