Normal sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1 - 9 once in every row, column and box.
Fog: Parts of the grid are covered in fog. Placing correct digits may clear the fog somewhere in the grid.
Longest Possible Thermometers in Boxes: Digits must increase along the thermometers starting from the bulb. In this puzzle the following rules apply
- Each 3x3 box contains a thermometer
- Thermometers cannot cross region boundaries
- Thermometers cannot cross themselves
- Thermometers can move orthogonally or diagonally
- Each provided thermometer is the uniquely longest possible thermometer that can be made in its region.
For example, in the solved grid, if the thermometer in the top left box was removed then it would not be possible to draw a different 6-cell thermometer, or any 7, 8 or 9-cell thermometer in the top left box.
See the image at the bottom of the page if you need more information about the thermometers constraint.

Starts off challenging and gets easier. rain1234 the 26 deadly pattern can be resolved using given rules.
RailMan: Thank you, you are correct about the 2 & 6.

Lovely puzzle! I had fun with it. I think there are two solutions. The 2-6 pair in boxes 3 and 9 could have been in either order and still fit the rules. I might be wrong though. Maybe one of those digits could be given, and hidden behind fog until the last step? Thanks for making it!
RailMan: Thank you for solving it. If you swap the 2 & 6 in box three then you can have a 6-cell thermo starting from the 2 which is not allowed by the rules.
