Identical digits cannot be a knight's move apart.
XV Pairs
Digits joined by an X sum to 10. Digits joined by a V sum to 5. Not all Xs and Vs are neccessarily given.
X-Sums
A clue outside the grid is the sum of the first X cells in the corresponding direction, where X is the digit in the cell next to the clue.

Nice puzzle, I liked that the outside clue is just yelling the solution at you once you got the colors down.
too bad I saw the pattern early enough to make use of it, I'm sure that's not meant to be the solve path.

Was für ein Hirnverzwirner! Im Prinzip war natürlich klar, was zu tun ist bis man schließlich zur 16 - trotzdem sehr knifflig. Aber genau das wollen wir ja, gell? Vielen Dank für das tolle Puzzle.

@TroublesomeOrca X-sum includes the first cell in the count of the first X cells. So [26]8 is interpreted as 2+6 which != 16.
