Ambiguity Doppelgänger Somedoku

(Eingestellt am 13. Dezember 2025, 14:43 Uhr von laquartetfan)

Having greatly enjoyed somedoku puzzles, based on a ruleset originally created by blackjackfritz, and doppelgänger puzzles, based on a ruleset originally created by Kafkapharnaum, I've made a puzzle combining the two rulesets.

Rules:

DOPPELGÄNGER SOMEDOKU:

The puzzle consists of a 10 by 10 grid missing the R10C10 cell.

For n between 1 and 9, row n contains exactly one 0 and n distinct digits from 1-9, repeating digits as necessary.

For n between 1 and 9, column n contains exactly one 0 and n distinct digits from 1-9, repeating digits as necessary.

Row 10 consists of a complete set of the digits 1-9. Column 10 consists of a complete set of the digits 1-9.

For each 0 in the puzzle, the digit in row 10 of its column is different from the digit in column 10 of its row.

AMBIGUOUS CLUES:

Each type of clue in the puzzle can function as one of two standard variant sudoku constraints. The solver must determine which constraint each individual clue functions as.

Red lines are either German whisper lines, or renban lines. On German whisper lines, adjacent digits must differ by at least 5. Digits on a renban line form a set of consecutive digits, with no repeats.

M's are either X's or V's. Digits separated by an X sum to 10. Digits separated by a V sum to 5.

Grey lines with a square on one end are either thermos or arrows. On a thermo, digits strictly increase from the square end. On an arrow, the digit on the square is equal to the sum of the other digits on the line.

Grey triangles are either odd clues or even clues. A digit on an odd clue must be odd. A digit on an even clue must be even.

Grey dots are either white or black kropki dots. Digits separated by a white kropki dot have a difference of 1. Digits separated by a black kropki dot are in a 2:1 ratio.

No clue satisfies both constraints, e.g. a red line cannot be both a valid renban and a valid German whispers line.

Each type of clue appears at least once as each constraint type, e.g. at least one gray dot must work as a white kropki dot clue, and at least one gray dot must work as a black kropki dot clue.

Play the puzzle on SudokuPad.
