The following puzzle is the direct follow-up of the latest puzzle that I published last week, with bigger size and also more deliberate cares onto it. I recommend trying the last one first to get some familiarity with the concept.
Since the last one turned out to be somewhat well received from my check, as promised, I tried to give this rule set another go but on a bigger grid size. I actually finished the entire setting on the last Wednesday only, but I was rather happy with how it went overall and this follow-up quickly became one of my favorite projects to set this year :)
Anyway, from my view, this one has a higher difficulty overall since the regions building logic are more involved in here, but the solving experience should also be much more fruitful and engaging as well.
I put this as higher side of 4 difficulty at the end but let me know if I should push this to solid 5 afterwards.
Rules:
- In the 11x11 grid, exactly eleven empty cells must be marked so that one empty cell must be marked in every row and every column.
Additionally, divide all of the non-empty cells into eleven orthogonally connected regions so that every region contains exactly ten cells.
-
Every non-empty cell contains the number that’s equal to
the total amount of cells seen horizontally and vertically from that cell’s perspective, including itself, where region borders and the 11x11 grid perimeter block the visions.
- A circle clue outside a row/column corresponds to exactly one continuous group of cells that share the same region in that row/column, and its value shows the sum of that group, if given.
- The correct order of the clues is from left to right for the row and from top to bottom for the column. It's possible the same region can represent multiple groups in a row/column.
- In this puzzle, a question mark (?) can represent any single digit from 0-9, but a single digit clue cannot be zero (0). An asterisk (*) shows an arbitrary number of circle clues, which can be none at all.
Puzzle: Penpa plus -
Sudokupad
The answer check in penpa link will activate once all of the non-empty cells are correctly filled and also the region borders are correctly drawn (not counting the 11x11 grid perimeter). For now, good luck and have fun solving!
And with that, my puzzle setting plan for this year is officially done and that leaves one final major project for the end of this year, which I hope can be fulfilled till that point...
