Kyōsoku

By mnasti2

This genre is an attempted offshoot of Jisoku by Shintaro and Nordy, but with two loops providing information about one another. The name "Kyōsoku" (共測) means "mutual measurement" in Japanese (and incidentally means "armrest" when written with different kanji).

Rules:
  • Draw two loops that travel orthogonally through the centers of some cells. The loops do not intersect themselves or one another.
  • Cells on loops have two types: "turn" if the loop turns 90 degrees, and "straight" if the loop passes straight through. Each number clue in the grid is visited by a loop, and the clue counts how many cells of the same type as itself are on the other loop in the indicated direction.

I hope you enjoy the puzzle!

Kyōsoku I (Example)

Kyōsoku II

Lösungscode: Row 5 of Kyōsoku II; E for empty, S for straight, T for turn. E.g. ETSSTESTT.
