Rules:
Normal Sudoku rules apply.

A cell's value is equal to it's digit if not modified by a following rule.

Value cages:
Values in cages sum to the number in the top left of each cage. Values can appear multiple times in the same cage.

Value arrow:
Values along an arrow sum to the value in the connected circle.

Hungry Digits:
The smaller digit of any two digits horizontally or vertically separated by the digit 8 "eats" the larger digit. The smaller digit's cell has a value equal to the sum of the two digits, while the larger digit's cell has a value of 0.

A cell's digit can only eat or be eaten once, and cannot both eat and be eaten.

Ex: for the digits 7-8-9, you can say that the 7 "ate" 9, leaving their respective cells with a value of 16 for the 7, and 0 for the 9.

You can play it on sudoku pad.

Lösungscode: Digits in the 4th row.

brilliant.
looks IMPOSSIBLE at first, but there is ONE IMPOSSIBLE cell.
then, SUDOKU, and you absolutely WILL FORGET the "hidden" rule.

p.s. the title is a pleonasm

That was really fun! Very clear place to start, flowed pretty smoothly throughout. I only really got a bit hung up towards the end, and even that was because I forgot about the "larger digit" rule - filled in one side of an 8 and was having the darndest of times about whether the 0-flagged cell on the other side should be higher or lower than the filled in side :P

Made solution code shorter.

"seven ate nine" is an absolutely brilliant rule!

I would, however, really love a shorter (just one row) solution code
