Zodiac x Flat Mates

INTRODUCTION:

Happy New Year!

At long last, two of the powerhouse series in Sudoku have joined forces, to present to you "Zodiac x Flat Mates"
(just think of the brand synergy!).

Inspired by the work of gdc in their Zodiac recap, this pack is both an homage and a new take on the Dutch Flat Mate rule — the Australian Flat Mate — a 6x6 version where the world has been turned upside-down. The 1 and 9 have traded places, so that '6's must go above and '⇂'s must go below...

You can find a link to the full Zodiac series here and another link to the full Dutch Flat Mate series here.

Please join me in starting the new year off on the right foot, with some Flat Mate shenanigans. Have fun!

PUZZLE(S):

#02 Counting Castles by Marty Sears?

• Divide the grid into 6 kingdoms of orthogonally connected cells and fill the grid with the digits 1-6, so that each digit appears once in each row, column and kingdom.
• A digit on a castle indicates exactly how many castles contain that digit. A bridge connects two digits in different kingdoms.
• Every kingdom has a score, representing how powerful it is. It is calculated by adding the number of castles the kingdom contains to the number of neighbouring kingdoms it borders (note that two kingdoms are considered neighbours if they share at least one orthogonal edge).
• A digit in a blue square indicates its kingdom's score. No two kingdoms have the same score.
• Australian Flat Mate rules apply! meaning every 5 in the grid must have either a '6' directly above it or a '⇂' directly below it (it may have both but it doesn't need both).

#09 Suguru's Surge by gdc?

• Place the digits 1-6 once each into every row, column and box.
• Shade some cells green, representing islands. An island of size N must contain the digits 1-N without repeats.
• Shade the remaining cells blue, representing water. All water cells are connected orthogonally and must not fully cover a 2x2 area (though islands may).
• A digit in a square is on an island and contains the largest digit of that island. A digit in a diamond is on an island and shows how many island cells are seen in the row and column combined, including itself. Water cells block vision. Square and diamond cells represent a complete set of the digits 1-6.
• Digits separated by a white dot are consecutive and either both island or both water.
• Australian Flatmate rules apply! meaning every 5 in the grid must have either a '6' directly above it or a '⇂' directly below it (it may have both but it doesn't need both).

#13 Gemini by Christounet?

• Place the digits 1-6 once each into every row, column and box.
• In each grid, the circles contain a complete set of the digits 1-6. For each pair of circles in the same position, the digit is the same. In one grid the value of the cell is doubled; in the other the value is unchanged (the doublers are not necessarily all in the same grid). It is up to the solver to determine in which grid each digit is doubled.
• The values of cells in a Killer cage must sum to the total in the top-left corner.
• Australian Flat Mate value rules apply! meaning every value 5 in the grid must have either a value '6' directly above it or a value '⇂' directly below it (it may have both but it doesn't need both).

#14 Sagittarius by MaizeGator?

• Place the digits 1-6 once each into every row, column and region.
• Digits along an arrow must sum to the digit in the attached circle. No two circles contain the same digit.
• Australian Flat Mate rules apply! meaning every 5 in the grid must have either a '6' directly above it or a '⇂' directly below it (it may have both but it doesn't need both).

#23 Sagitta Speakeasy by Katie Splendor?

• Place the digits 1-6 once each into every row, column and box.
• No two green squares may contain the same digit.
• Any set of three consecutive digits along a hollow teal modular line must contain a digit each from the sets of {1, 4}, {2, 5} and {3, 6}.
• Digits separated by a black dot contain digits where one is double the other; not all black dots are necessarily given. Digits separated by a V sum to 5.
• Australian Flat Mate rules apply! meaning every 5 in the grid must have either a '6' directly above it or a '⇂' directly below it (it may have both but it doesn't need both).

#24 Rat: Chinese Zodiac by Ratfinkz?

• Place the digits 1-6 once each into every row, column and box.
• No pink or blue circle may contain the same digit. Lines are hit point lines. A circle shows the total of the line's sum which is made up from digits in their correct position along the line (e.g. a line reading 14325 would have the total 9 as 1 is in the first position, 3 in the third and 5 in the 5th but 4 and 2 are not correct being in the second and 4th position respectively)
• Digits may repeat along lines if allowed by other rules.
• A square at the end of a line marks the position of the first digit in the sequence. Lines without points are for the solver to determine in which direction they go, but they must always start at one end of the line and finish at the other.
• A black dot marks digits where one is double the other; not all black dots are necessarily given.
• Australian Flat Mate rules apply! meaning every 5 in the grid must have either a '6' directly above it or a '⇂' directly below it (it may have both but it doesn't need both).

Lösungscode: The digits in R6C1 of each puzzle, from first to last (that's seven digits in total! for the twin-grids in "Gemini", take R6C1 of each grid, listed smaller to larger digit).

Added missing grid furniture to final puzzle ("Chinese Zodiac"); apologies to those who struggled on that last leg!
